چکیده
Introduction Cognitive impairments, the main determinants of functional outcomes in schizophrenia, had limited treatment responses and need a better understanding mechanisms. Dysfunctions dopamine system N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), primary pathophysiologies may impair cognition. Objectives This study explored effects interactions striatal transporter (DAT) plasma NMDAR-related amino acids on cognitive impairments schizophrenia. Methods We recruited 36 schizophrenia patients age- sex-matched healthy controls (HC). All participants underwent assessments attention, memory, executive function. Single-photon emission computed tomography with 99mTc-TRODAT ultra-performance liquid chromatography were applied to determine DAT availability concentrations eight acids, respectively. Results Compared HC, lower performance, higher methionine concentrations, decreased glutamic acid, cysteine, aspartic arginine, ratio acid gamma-aminobutyric (Glu/GABA), left caudate nucleus (CN) putamen. Regarding memory scores, Glu/GABA CN putamen exhibited positive relationships, while showed negative associations all participants. The mediated methionine-memory relationship. An exploratory backward stepwise regression analysis for four biological markers associated indicated that remained final model. Conclusions demonstrated Future studies comprehensively evaluate their complex implications are warranted. Disclosure Interest None Declared

Combined Therapy for Anti-N-methyl D-aspartate Receptor Encephalitis
Background Anti-N-methyl- d-aspartate receptor (anti-NMDAR) encephalitis is an autoimmune neurological disorder that usually occurs as a paraneoplastic syndrome and is particularly associated with ovarian teratoma. Standard therapy for severe cases is not established and the prognosis in patients who do not respond to first-line treatment is poor. Case Report An 11-year-old boy complained ps...
متن کاملDopamine and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor interactions in the neostriatum.
This review examines dopamine (DA) and glutamate receptor interactions in the neostriatum (NS) primarily from a neurophysiological perspective. Historically, a clear understanding of the function of DA in the NS has been difficult because it was considered a classical neurotransmitter with either excitatory or inhibitory actions and because many of the data were obtained by use of varying metho...
متن کاملN-methyl-D-aspartate receptor-dependent regulation of the glutamate transporter excitatory amino acid carrier 1.
The neuronal transporter excitatory amino acid carrier 1 (EAAC1) is enriched in perisynaptic regions, where it may regulate synaptic spillover of glutamate. In this study we examined potential interactions between EAAC1 and ionotropic glutamate receptors. N-Methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunits NR1, NR2A, and NR2B, but not the alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid rece...
متن کاملThe effect of morphine dependence on expression of hippocampal N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunits in male rats
Introduction: N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors play a pivotal role in the development of tolerance and physical dependence to opiates. Activation of NMDA receptors involves the induction of long term potentiation (LTP) in hippocampus. Our previous study suggested that chronic oral administration of morphine enhanced NMDA dependent LTP in the CA1 area of hippocampal slices of rats. The p...

Objective(s): -methyl-D-aspartate NMDA receptor (NMDAR) and aquaporin 4 (AQP4) are involved in the molecular cascade of edema after traumatic brain injury (TBI) and are potential targets of studies in pharmacology and medicine. However, their association and interactions are still unknown.Materials and Methods: We established a rat TBI model in this study. The cellular distribution patterns of ...
